The REBEL Society | why WHY is such an important question…

If you haven’t already checked out my New Year Resolution Post, please do so!  It is the whole reason behind my creation of The REBEL Society.

I am so excited to share the FIRST REBEL Society post.  These posts are incredibly important to me and my hope is that they will inspire you, as well.  One of my life long goals is to become the BEST VERSION OF MYSELF and throughout my “Year of Rebellion,” these nuggets of wisdom are helping me to do just that.

So without further adieu, here is Lesson #1: Ask Yourself WHY…

I’ve been reading Seat of the Soul by Gary Zukav, and a couple of passages I read this morning hit me particularly hard.  These are concepts that I have known in my soul, but have had a real difficult time explaining.  Gary does so perfectly below as he writes about becoming a multi sensory person, or a *conscious* person (see below for my definition).

The first step to this is becoming aware of what you are feeling. Following your feelings will lead you to their source. Only through emotions can you encounter the force field of your own soul. That is the human passage in a word.

Each question that a person asks, such as, “Why does news of this business meeting affect me this way?”, “Why do I feel so disturbed?”, and “Does my experience support my suspicion?”, invokes guidance. Every time you ask for guidance, you receive it. Every time you ask yourself, “What is my motivation?”, you ask the Universe, “Help me to see,” and help comes.

You may not always be capable of hearing the answers to your questions when you ask them, and the answers may not always come in the ways that you expect, but they always come. Sometimes an answer occurs in the form of a feeling—a yes feeling or a no feeling—sometimes in the form of a memory, or a thought that, at the time, seems random, sometimes in a dream and sometimes in the form of a realization that is prompted by an experience that will occur the next day.

No question is unheard, and no question goes unanswered. “Ask and you shall receive” is the rule, but you must learn how to ask and how to receive.

In order to rebel from a life lived in THE SAFE ZONE, we must ask ourselves WHY so that we may live authentically.

So many issues arise from a refusal to deal with your feelings and emotions.  When I was a teenager, I experienced a very deep loss.  My first reaction was to break all ties with the person that inflicted such pain, and so I did.  Cutting ties caused feelings of bitterness and anger that manifested themselves in depression.  It took me several years to recover from the loss and it wasn’t until I started asking myself why I was feeling what I was feeling, was I able to step toward recovery.

Gary Zukav is right.  Ask and you shall receive.  God has your back and He wants you to learn from the circumstances of your life in order to live authentically (fulfilling your purpose on earth).  So, get to know yourself.  Ask WHY.  No question is too big or too small.  Take the time to get know your feelings.  Befriend them, and as you do so, you will experience a shift in your consciousness.  A shift toward unveiling your soul.

And just as everything in life has a ripple effect – unveiling your soul (who you truly are) will lead to your purpose, and figuring out your purpose will point you in the right direction to live authentically, and when you are living authentically you will experience a profound sense of satisfaction and joy.

You owe it to yourself to ask WHY.

You owe it to yourself to REBEL from a life lived in THE SAFE ZONE.

You owe it to yourself to live authentically.

Let’s join forces and learn/rebel together this year.  Leave me a comment below on your thoughts regarding this post or what you would like to see/read/hear more of in this YEAR of REBELLION.  I value your ideas and thank you sincerely for taking the time to read this.

I wish you LIGHT, LOVE, & PEACE,

Sincerely,

Jaclyn Steele

*(Being conscious to me means that one is striving for higher levels of understanding and purpose in life, knowing there is deeper meaning to all that we see and experience.  In addition, there must be an emphasis on compassion, because as we awaken to our own personal purpose, we realize that everything else on this planet has purpose, as well, and so a profound respect is developed for all living things.)
