I cannot believe @samthurmond_rei and I have been nomads now for over a month. It's been a whirlwind. Have you been toying with taking to the road full time?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Here are a few things I've learned:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👩🏼‍💻 Have a designate workspace. Setting up and breaking down your ish every day is not sustainable... or at least it isn't for me.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
😲 Full time traveling is hard on the perfectionist. I am a perfectionist. Things bump around and get scratched and dented. Can we learn to pack things better - yes. BUT, constant movement is going to knock things around no matter what.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🧠 Everything is figureoutable as @marieforleo says. Not enough oven space? Get a ninja portable oven. Not enough room for a crock pot and a rice maker? Get an Instant Pot. Feel like you are being closed in on by clutter... get rid of that ish.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🛣 Moving every couple of days with a 5th wheel is not sustainable. It takes a good hour and a half if not longer to set up and break down. If you want to work from the road, it's hard to be moving every day. Travel on the weekends, or stay put in one spot for a while. That's one of the reasons we will be in AZ for at least 2 months... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

📝 Keeping a routine is tough on the move, but it is possible. You have to plan ahead a bit and really dial in your priorities for the day. It's so much easier though, if you are planted in one spot for a while.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🤍 Living tiny is great! This is not a forever for us, however, I've actually enjoyed having so much less space to take care of. I think I'll enjoy it even more when we are planted in AZ and I can actually organize our ish... it was piled in here after we sold our house and we've been so crazy busy since, that I haven't really put stuff in it's permanent home.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I was struggling silently for months. Actually, if I’m really honest, it was probably more like several years.

I couldn’t put my finger on it, but my body seemed to be feeling less and less my own. Sleep was consistently elusive. I had serious bouts of trouble focusing. My anxiety became a daily struggle - it was markedly higher than it had been in the past. I was exercising but my body didn’t change. I gained weight without really changing my diet. And I felt tired ALL THE TIME.

From my research, I thought I had adrenal fatigue. Then as I dove even deeper, I had a hunch my hormones were out of whack. I got a blood test and sure enough, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s.

Medication has its uses, but I want to heal. So I started doing more research and came across this cutting edge hormone optimization company.

I started their protocol and and within a week, felt like I was starting to get my body back.

I want to share this information with you because it’s been a game changer for me. And that’s what today’s episode is all about.

I have to tell you guys something. And I'm really excited about this because it's made such a difference in my health the last month.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Here's the skinny: I'm doing hormone replacement/optimization therapy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The background? I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditus in August. However, I had been feeling off for a long time prior to my diagnosis. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🤨First, it was brain fog. My, brain, which had been quite the processor, really seemed to have trouble staying focused.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
😔 Then it was sadness/depression. There was this cloud that just wouldn't seem to lift no matter what I did.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🧐Then I noticed my cycle was just... off.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🥱Then I would go for days without sleeping through the night.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🤯Then it was bouts of wild anxiety. I felt like I was going to crawl out of my skin. While I can be high energy, consistent high anxiety had never been a part of my daily routine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🤬Then, and here was the kicker for me... I gained like 10 pounds seemingly overnight.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I woke up one morning and was like - what just happened to my body? I felt like there was a chasm the size of the Grand Canyon between who I had been and who I was currently.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Then I got my hormones checked. Yikes. Things were off. I got going on a low dose of Levothroxine for my thyroid, but I wanted to fix the problem, not just put a bandaid on it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I want to talk about it. The trees gently let go of their leaves every autumn and literally let them fall away - what if we actively let go of what was holding us back every year, too?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

My Hashimoto's diagnosis has been a big wakeup call. I've been on the self discovery train ever since I can remember, but this dis-ease is quickly becoming one of my greatest teachers because it's forcing me to let go of things that no longer serve me, like:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍁 believing this health scare is my fault⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍁 holding myself to unrealistic expectations⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍁 thinking that my weight bears weight on the beauty of who I really am⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍁 that my health can be fixed over night - patience, love⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍁 that my self talk should be anything but abundantly kind⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍁 that this slowed down pace is holding me back instead of driving me forward⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'm letting go of these beliefs. They never served me and never will. If I want to get to where I really want to go, then my behavior has to change and reflect that person I haven't quite become yet. She's on her way though... and my struggle with Hashimoto's is quickly becoming a catalyst for that transformation to take place.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Sure, I love a bare face and I don't wear makeup every single day (I'm not wearing a lick of it as a I write this), but there is something about putting makeup on and the way I feel afterwards that I love. In some ways, it's my war paint. It's that barrier between me - the vulnerable, sensitive soul that I am - and the much harsher reality of the world.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
